The welcome party will be held at the
Karakoro Kobo (Krakoro Art Studio) (Garden Terrace) in the historical district in Matsue City from 5
pm to 7 pm on 22 May. You will have the opportunity to register for the Workshop. It takes 20 min from JR Matsue station to Karakoro Art Studio on
foot. The most convenient way is to take a taxi and the fare is around 1,000 JPY
(7 Euro). Please say to the taxi driver “Karakoro Kobo” as the destination or show the SLOPOS14 map, exhibited in WORKSHOP INFORMATION page.
Japanese tea ceremony
The tea ceremony of Matcha (green tea) will be held at the Workshop venue in the afternoon (1 pm to 5 pm) on Monday (23rd) and Tuesday (24th) May. It is served free of charge. The taste of Matcha is very complicated, bitter and mild. Japanese confectionary is faintly sweet. Please do not miss them.
The workshop banquet will be held at Yuushien Garden on 26th May (Thursday).
Three buses will depart from Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu at 5:30 pm. They will not stop off at Kunibiki Messe. Please note this is a change from the plan in the final circular. When each bus becomes full, they will depart for “Yuushien” (Banquet venue) in sequence. The journey to Yuushien takes around 30 mins. After arriving there, you can enjoy a leisurely walk in the Japanese garden and tree peony in “Yuushien” for an hour. The banquet will start around 7:00 pm. A vegetarian menu is provided, so please take the indicated seats if you prefer. The wooden cup for Japanese sake is set in each seat. You can drink Japanese sake with the cup and take it at the end of the banquet as a souvenir.
Each participant is cordially invited to the following three interesting places scheduled in the afternoon of Wednesday on 25 May (Wednesday). We will leave the Workshop venue around noon and return around 22:00.
Visit to Matsue Castle (a National treasure)
The entrance ticket for Matsue Castle will be handed at the reception of the conference. You can visit Matsue Castle in your own free time.
